bad idea: the $70,000 fixie

here's another example of why designers/art people are on a rampage to "reinvent" the bicycle. this is the thonet by andy martin, a bike made out of wood featuring steam bent technology. don't get me wrong, in some angles this thing looks pretty radical, but it's never going to be as functional and smooth operating as a normal bike. it's nice lookin' but at a $70,000 USD price tag it ain't that nice. damn. that's hella money. you can get a better look at fast co.
